<어메이징 스토리> 류의 옴니버스 구성과 텔레비전 드라마의 양식을 취한 교외 괴담. 얼핏 평화로와 보이는 중산층 주거지로 신혼부부를 안내하는 부동산 중개인 봅은 얼핏 쾌활해 보이지만 성과급제의 압력에 시달리는 절박한 처지. 그러나 그가 보여주는 근사한 세 채의 집은 저마다 도저히 팔리기 힘든 기괴한 내력을 갖고 있다. 순진한 ‘아메리칸 드림’을 조롱하는 이야기지만, 그보다 “뭔가 좋은 것을 가지려면 그것의 역사를 함께 받아들여야 한다”거나 “많은 행복이 있어도 사람들이 신경쓰는 건 한 번의 불행 뿐”이라는 주인공의 푸념이 기억에 남는다.

An omnibus of three stories, this suburban horror story is of an , dramatic television program manner. Bob, a real estate agent who shows a young couple around a middle class neighborhood looks like a jolly fellow on the outside, but is always under the pressure to succeed. All the three houses he shows them have dark secrets of the past, forbidding them to sell. This is a story deriding the naive ㄳmerican Dreamㄳ but two underlying assertions the main character gives : " One who is in pursuit of something ㄳoodㄳmust accept its history as well." and " Despite all the happiness and comforts of life, the only thing that counts is a once-in-a lifetime misery.", linger on in my memory.
